Visa Information & Entry Regulations for Indonesia

All international delegates attending the 4th Global Summit on Diamond Open Access must ensure they possess valid travel documentation and appropriate entry clearance prior to their departure for Indonesia.

Please review the guidelines below to determine the visa category applicable to your nationality and purpose of visit.

General Passport Requirements

Regardless of your visa category, the Directorate General of Immigration of the Republic of Indonesia requires that:

Passport Validity: Your international passport must be valid for at least 6 (six) months beyond the date of your intended arrival in Indonesia.
Return / Onward Ticket: You must present a confirmed return flight ticket or proof of onward travel leaving Indonesia.
Blank Pages: Passports should have at least two blank pages for immigration stamps.

Visa Categories for Conference Delegates

Most international participants can enter Indonesia using one of the following streamlined options:

1. Electronic Visa on Arrival (e-VoA) — Index B1 / B2

Eligibility: Available to citizens of over 90 designated countries.
Purpose: Tourism, government visits, business meetings, and attending international conferences or academic events.
Duration: Valid for an initial stay of 30 days, extendable once for an additional 30 days while in Indonesia.
How to Apply: Apply directly and securely online prior to departure through the official immigration portal: evisa.imigrasi.go.id.
Payment & Issuance: Payment is made online via international credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, JCB). The approved e-VoA is issued as a downloadable PDF document to print and present upon arrival.
Note: While regular Visa on Arrival (VoA) can still be obtained at airport immigration counters, delegates are strongly advised to apply for the e-VoA online beforehand to avoid lengthy airport queues.

2. ASEAN Visa Exemption (Free Entry)

Eligibility: Citizens of ASEAN member countries (e.g., Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, etc.).
Duration: Permitted entry for up to 30 days without a visa for short-term academic and social visits.
Conditions: Strictly non-extendable and cannot be converted into other residency permits.

3. Visit Visa (Visitor Visa) — Index C7 / C11 (Pre-departure Online Visa)

Eligibility: Delegates holding passports from countries not eligible for the e-VoA/VoA facility, or those requiring an initial stay exceeding 30 days (up to 60 days).
Application: Must be applied for online through evisa.imigrasi.go.id well in advance (at least 3–4 weeks prior to departure).
Sponsorship: May require an official sponsor letter or corporate account provided by the local host institution.

Official Letter of Invitation

If your university, government agency, or funding institution requires an official invitation letter for institutional travel clearance, funding disbursement, or visa submission:

1. You must first complete your Summit Registration on this website.

2. Send an email request to the Summit Secretariat with the subject line:

[Visa Support] Invitation Letter Request – Full Name

3. Include the following details in your email:

Full Name (exactly as written in your passport)
Passport Number, Nationality, and Date of Expiry
Institutional Affiliation and Country
Title of Accepted Submission / Oral Presentation (if presenting)
Proposed Dates of Stay in Indonesia

Official letters of invitation are generated with institutional stamps and dispatched within 3 to 5 business days.

Mandatory Electronic Customs Declaration (e-CD)

All arriving international passengers must complete the mandatory electronic Customs Declaration (e-CD) within 3 days (72 hours) before arrival in Indonesia.

Official Customs Portal: ecd.beacukai.go.id
Upon completing the online declaration, a QR code will be generated. Save this QR code on your mobile device or print it out to scan at the customs checkpoint after collecting your luggage.
